How can I update my 1960's sliding closet doors?

We just bought a house with lightweight hollow core closet doors - the kind that slide across or behind the other when you open one side. Any ideas?

I would change those doors out and install bifold doors. You will be able to access your closet better because they open up to reveal both sides.
Thanks for all of the answers - all good ones! I hadn't even thought of replacing with bifolds, or using the thin panels to make them look like real wood. Thank you.
You can add washi tape or make it look like there are panels.
