Yes! It is a great storage item. I used each drawer for a specific type of art method - one for drawing, one for watercolor, one for oils, one for acrylics, etc. I do suggest that you line each drawer with a waterproof paper, like Contact paper since art and craft supplies can leak or seep and you don't want to ruin the dresser or other craft supplies.
Yes, I've been using one for awhile. I've used it for fabric, and smaller items, as well as general storage. I've found fabric sorted by color is easiest and folded as small as possible on their edge instead of stacked worked well. Did you have a specific question about the storage? I also have shelves above it for jars and paints.
I have! And it is no where near enough room! I have supplies stashed all over the house.
We are using an old dresser on our patio for storage. Designate each drawer for a certain item. We painted our dresser drawers with a high gloss bright white paint to make it easier to see and clean. If you have any type of wrapping paper a curtain rod attached to the side will store that too.
I have used a large 12 drawer dresser for craft storage, along with clear plastic tubs from Walmart.
I like the wire and plastic drawer units.
I found an old chest of drawers that fit in my craft room closet & painted it after removing drawers. I left the top 2 drawers out. (Dresser had 5 drawers.) Painted the drawer fronts & replaced hardware. We painted inside where the 2 drawers were left out. Once finished I organized a LOT of my craft items in it & used the 2 open spaces for items that I used the most.
I also use part of the closet rod to hang item's & had enough room to put a tension rod on the side to hang longer items. Now I have plenty of room for my supplies & when im done I can close the closet door & everything looks neat & tidy! Hope this helps!
My mom found an old chest of drawers that she painted shiny black and she used it in her craft room to store all kinds of things. I have it now and store my dining room table linens, old pictures and frames my mom gave me, placemats, and some of my own empty picture frames and some crafty things that fit with everything else that is stuffed in there.
Me! Just don't over-stuff it, like I did. I broke a drawer. LOL
I just wanted to thank each of you for taking the time to respond to my question. I like all the unique thoughts that everyone had. All of you were a wonderful help and I appreciate it greatly!!! Thanks again
