As a comparison—-We had our contractor put down new red oak conventional hardwood to match existing two years ago and they are not wearing well. Our 70 pound dog is causing some wear and tear and also the oil based finished not the best as a comparison to your inquiry.

I understand laminate is stronger so that is a good plus!

Depends on the quality and the install.I have Laminate fllors in my house and the only reason I changed them was because they became out dated.Proper maintenance is also a large part

Mine is 11 years down....had flooring man install. In kitchen, laundry room and dining room. Just don't let water stand on laminate... Wipe up immediently.

  • Have mine 15 years and was the top of the line at the time. Absolutely do not like it. I can't express how much I really do not care for this product - worst homeowner purchase - E v e r. I have a lot of pets and it is half ripped out now, going to replace with real hardwood.
