One of my favorite things to do with glass bowls is to fill them with dirt and add succulents. They make great gifts! If you have bowls or vases with a smooth surface try wrapping them with jute rope or thick yarn secured with hot glue. Leave about an inch at the top to show off the contrast between the string and the bowl!
I collect decanters and I also wonder about lead content. But I keep them really just for a visual treat. I doubt any harm would come to you by an occasional food use of these bowls. And etched and cut glass is so beautiful!
If you want to keep them plant herbs, useful, beautiful and not just a kitchen item!
id you have plates to add to them you can make flowers for yard decor, a glass garden..... take a look here! http://www.birdsandblooms.com/backyard-projects/recycled-garden-ideas/diy-glass-garden-flowers/
Water plants or candles with your choice of decor in the water
·Perhaps a candy dish stand.
Hot glue/E6000 a suitable glass/drinking glass to bottom of dish.
You May glass spray paint it, decorate with jewels, ribbons (maybe put decor on rim off glass that's attach to bottom of bowl)...
You can use painters tape to cover parts you don't want painted
·You may center piece it with decorative (holidays, occassions, just because) flowers around bottom (optional). You may use foam to hold flowers together and/or give dish height.
I have succulents in mine, be careful to not overwater.
You can add water and float candles in them for a table centerpiece. You can use as a vase for low cut flower designs. Add small colored lights at holiday time for extra sparkle on a tabletop or mantle. Many of the other suggestions are great too and they always make a good conversation piece. They also make great containers for gifting bath bombs, favorite candies, etc.

Sort into types of glass. Try stacking them to make taller items - Pedistal bowl or compot etc.
Bird feeders, hanging lights, candle holders are what came to my mind. Use in garden for plants.
