Congratulations on your new home! I remember feeling overwhelmed when I first started gardening too. One thing that helped me was starting small and focusing on one area at a time. I found some great beginner tips here that really helped me get started. Don't worry too much about the dandelions, they're pretty easy to tackle once you get going.
PlantIn app is what I use. It also shows health . It’s free but tries to get you to upgrade. I just bypass that each time.
I would approach this differently. I would get Weed and Feed for the lawn, this way no pulling weeds. Although that is realy the best thing to do. Then I would define some flower beds and add either Miracle Grow with fertilizer or generic brand and plant perennial flowers for your area. I would then mulch those beds. I would also plant some bushes around the backyard. Lowes and HD have a year guarantee on plants, if they die they replace.
Probably start with the biggest area after removing the pallet art, which is the lawn. Give it Weed and Feed to kill the broadleafs. From there you could contact your local Cooperative Extension to see what will work best for you with minimal maintenance. Some native plants might suit you.
