Dining banquette for my eat-in-kitchen. Any suggestions?

i want to build an "L" shape dining banquette for my eat-in-kitchen; which is our only dining area. would like storage for my extensive cookbook collection inside the seats or on the front of the banquette. i've seen examples using stock upper kitchen cabinets with outdoor cushions on top. do i need to hire a handyman or can i do this myself? Thanks for any suggestions.

It is not possible to give suggestions about a custom made unit without knowing anything at all about the kitchen. Size, shape, window placement, refrig, sink, stove, counter, cupboard placements. Please post some pics of the kitchen and help will be on its way!
Hi there, look into the cabinets that go above a refrigerator they are deeper then regular uppers and not usually as tall. Typical measurements are 24 inches deep and 30 inches tall which is a bout perfect for a seat :)

It really depends on your skill level and/or willingness to try it! Read and look at posts of some DIY projects like this that other people have done, and see if you think you have the tools and capability to try it on your own.
