You can stake a piece of narrow rebar into the ground or a large weighted pot. Paint the pots any way you like. Thread clay pots with a larger diameter than the rebar onto the rebar, one above the other, but tilt each pot a different way. Use outdoor glue (like for boats) to hold the pots’ position. Plant herbs or flowers in the pots. The stack will appear topsy- turvey, but you know it is as straight as rebar. ☺️

You can stick rebar through the drain hole of clay pots to make stacked planters. If the hole is too small, get a bamboo stake in the garden center and cut to size. You will want the stake to be deep enough in both the bottom and top pot to hold it in place. If you can't find the right diameter for the pots you want to use, go the dowel section near lumber and check them out.
