This Shadow Box Craft Is Made Out Of Trash

This shadow box craft is made by the dog and the crafter. This is a trash to treasure project where I used only items I had that was about to be trash.

I had a little brown shopping bag I tossed the dog (I was dog sitting for a week) while I cleaned out other items to be tossed in my decluttering. I let him have fun while I worked. Then the idea hit me. Why not make a craft out of his shredded pieces for his parents. He is their only "child" and I wanted to them to come home to a home made gift from him!
Next I took an old pre-painted cardboard box lid I was about to throw out and used it as the shadow box. I glued his shredded paper "art" around the bottom inside and decorated around it with scraps of odds & ends I had. I didn't even have a color printer but had a black and white toner. I put his picture front and center. And wow who knew the 2 paper doilies I had left would come in handy! I wrote on them Made with love for Mommy and Daddy by Banks.
I had burlap flowers I made the little dog embellishments out of.
Next I just decorated the top with a piece of scrap ribbon and made the hanger out of scrap ribbon as well.
Here is the finished product. Made out of trash in an instant idea! This would make a great gift idea for any dog parent! I love easy, creative frugal projects. The best part is the dog really helped and had fun doing it.
Then Banks and I waited for his parents to get home and give them their first craft from their fur baby! When you make yours just use whatever you have on hand and use your imagination.
