I have a pop tent that I put up in the summer. It is hexagon shaped and has bug screens and 2 zip up doors. I am able to put it right on my deck and secure it with screws to the deck but if you put it on the ground you need to use the stakes and tie downs. The hexagon shape is better for draining water off the roof when it rains so the roof doesn't sag with water like the rectangular versions. There are also premade pergolas that you can put together and most have sliding roofs. I was just at Menards and Home Depot. All summer items are on sale/clearance. A pergola I was looking at was marked down 100.00 at Home Depot.

I have an EZ up shade cover that I put up for my pets. Here is an example so you can see what it looks like:

The above example is expensive! You can easily find cheap ones at Walmart, Target, etc., in the $50- $60 range if budget is a concern. You should stake them down with metal tent stakes so they do not blow over in the wind. Mine lowers easily so that when it does get windy, I can just drop it down so it does not get damaged. So the little ones do not get stubbed toes or trip, place an upside down bucket over each corner and set a pretty sun loving plant on top. More upscale models have screened sides to create a tent effect. Great if you want to toss out old blankets and pillows on the grass and have a snack or picnic and be bug free.
Sail Shades are cheap and easy to put up/take down.
