How to hide an ugly fence?

Hello could you give me some low budget advice on how to hide an ugly fence ??

Thank you

Sandie 😊 I'm disabled and am doing this on my own, so something easy would be great

It's very long I would say about 40 ft

You could cover it with inexpensive reed fencing which just rolls out, or with artificial boxwood panels. The boxwood is a little pricey, you could alternate with inexpensive lattice.

I had one of those, plant fast growing ivy along the fence line. It travels fast and is very pretty. Think wrigley field!

Don't know where you live but trumpet vine or virginia creeper would grow on it quickly as would wing grapes.

I love having Boston ivy growing on our driveway fence. Esp now that my husband's large Oriental lilies are in bloom. The ivy makes a wonderful backdrop, was one plant, blooms luxuriously in the summer.

Go with a theme for it and put decorative items on it such as plates or mirrors. You could acquire them from a thrift store. Draw the attention to the items and away from the fence.

If the neighbors cut what is growing within your property line, you can videotape and send a copy to local authorities. Some locales permit neighbors to cut what grows over into their space, but many have specific exceptions to prohibit it. If the fence is rotted, neighbors may be concerned it's attracting insects.

I also had a neighbour who apparently came into my yard while I was out and sheared off my beautiful climbing roses. They were I full bloom, and were thornless. She did out of spite, yet she never bothered to improve her own yard, it was a disaster zone!

Hi I suggest calling your local church like salvation army ,for example, they are very good at helping or getting you in touch with other groups who volunteer their time to make your fence pretty again or hide it if you like.

A trellis and a vining plant work wonders.

Morning glories grow from seed, grow very fast, and they cover a multitude of "uglies."
