Ceramic tile holds up quite well and is durable for kitchens, handling a lot of use and wear.
You can check out our flooring renovation. Hope it gives you some inspiration. Good luck! Hugs, Holly

Ceramic is a great flooring to use in a kitchen for it's durability. It can be easily washed when things are dropped but it can also easily chip or crack when you drop something heavy. For that reason, my preference is porcelain tile. It's harder, denser and less porous than ceramic. In addition, the colour usually goes through the entire porcelain tile so if it does happen to chip, it's not as noticeable.
We already had ceramic tiles when we bought our house. To fix those chips, check out our fix - https://www.hometalk.com/diy/floors-ceilings/got-chipped-floor-tile-try-this-fix--16230111
We have ceramic tile in our kitchen which is very durable, and is pretty easy to clean (except for the grout lines). If I were to replace it, I would go with a cork flooring.
