Bostick Tru color, rapid cure urethane grout is a very good product. Old grout must be completely removed and grout lines cleaned to insure best adhesion. Professional installation advised, unless you are very skilled.
There is a flexible latex additive product you can add to the grout instead of water that will help it not to crack, you will need to seal it about every five years. You have to make sure all the old grout is out. The tile guy used it in our bath. He said I should just have to seal it every five years or so, depending on the cleaning product chosen. He said to just use vinegar and water.
You need to remove all the old grout then you can regrout. New grout will not hold to old. Then you need to seal the grout with grout sealer. Make sure you use unsanded grout.
Hello, Have you thought to paint the grout a colour or use Silicone on bottom line?
If it is at the tub line, it will always crack. Tub gives a little every time you use it, and tile / grout doesn't. You'll have to calk.
Hi. Here's a trick: fill the tub with water to weight it down. Then use silicone caulk. Wait the recommended drying time, then drain the water. The silicone is more flexible and will give and take with the weight of tub full of water. Good luck.
