How can I keep my metal filing cabinet from leaving marks?
Moving into a new house with hardwood floors. My filing cabinet has been kept on carpet so far, but will not be in the new house. Anything I can use to prevent scratches?

Get a piece of scrap carpet (sometimes carpet stores are glad to give you leftovers). Cut the carpet the same size of the bottom of your cabinet, glue it upside down on the bottom so the nap of the carpet is on your floor. It works every time!
Hi peggy, you can buy self adhesive felt pads that you can stick to the underneath of the cabinet.
get a small bathroom rug from the $$ store that is the same as the foot print of the cabinet; then you can slide it! and it won't scratch ... get the kind with the rubber backing and put the rubber part next to the filing cabinet and the fabric part next to the floor ...
