Hi Sherry, do you have a natural gas line near your wood fireplace? If not, it can get very expensive very quickly depending if the line needs run under the house or up above in the attic area and down to your fireplace. This info link may help you.

Hi Sherry! Where I live requires a professional to attach to a gas line. They make inserts that are ready to hook up.
Have to have a plumber run you a gas line and shut on/off . Find an insert that fits your opening. May have to fill in with brick to make it fit.
