These kitchen changes and habits will make your home safer and more beautiful!

Decorating your kitchen is more than just pretty things. It must be organized and safe too. Today we are going to talk about the top 4 things you should do to keep a healthy and happy kitchen.

Step 1: Determine those things in your kitchen that can be potentially dangerous if not cleaned, organized or changed regularly. In our home the refrigerator filter, pantry, sink area and floor were important.

Step 2: Start with your refrigerator. Keeping your food and water safe is very important. Plus your kitchen will be much more appealing if your frig is clean and organized. So start with the fridge and change the filter, give it a good cleaning and sort items by shelves. Try leftovers on one shelf, condiments on another shelf, dairy in one drawer, veggies and fruit in another drawer and meats in the meat drawer. Now your fridge is arranged easier to find things and your water is safe.

Step 3: Cleaning your cutting boards properly will not only make them safer but it will keep them looking great if you like to decorate with then in your kitchen. Take some salt and lemon or limes and scrub the boards. Not only does it smell wonderful and look great once you rinse them but you are less likely to get sick from bad food that has taken up residence in the grain.

Step 4: Now for the sink area. First I want to encourage you to keep your sink clean on a daily basis. After dinner each night I clean my sink with the detergent from cleaning and sometimes scrub some baking soda inside it too. The baking soda helps it to sparkle. Make sure to read the directions or go online to see if your sink is okay to use baking soda. I have a white Corine sink so it is safe for my sink.

Step 5: Last think about your floor. Make sure your floor doesn't have any rugs that can trip you, your family or guests. I am not a big fan of rugs mainly for the cleanliness but rugs can be very useful if you need some foot support or back support. And they look amazing in kitchens. So, make sure your rugs do not curl up on the edges and they are safe for walking.
