How do I make an old dresser into storage?
My gram had this dresser she gave to me. I dont need it as a dresser anymore . The drawers swelled and are hard to open. I hate to throw.it any but would like to make it into a storage piece at my entry way for the kids hats and gloves and miscallenaous things. Its a tall 5 drawer dresser

Shannon, if you click on "explore projects" then "make over" then "furniture" then "dresser" you can find quite a few tutorials on the make over of dressers. I chose one that does not sound too kindly to your Grandma's old dresser, but it shows a make over without the drawers since yours are too swollen to open/shut now. Shannon...You can add dusting powder to the drawers and cover with tissue paper...my Mom taught me that years ago. You may need to sand drawers a little or rub with candle wax and see if that helps. I would paint or you can remove stain, sand well and stain again or just apply polyurethane. I believe you have a great idea!

You can also remove a drawer or 2 and source some baskets or containers to slide in the openings for easier access.
