How do I convert my wood burning fireplace to gas logs?
We have a wood burning fireplace with a gas starter. I’d love to convert this to gas logs. Can this be done DIY, or is this better left to the pros?

Yes it can be done. First have chimney cleaned to start fresh. Go to a gas log store, pick out your logs, usually they will install. It sound like you are already set up to receive gas logs. Enjoy.
Dealing with this kind of conversion better left to the pros. Configuration, piping, regulator, shut off. You need a fireplace pro.
We did this on one of our fireplaces, but it already had a gas line and he is licensed to this type of work. Can be a homeowner DIY if you have everything in place. If not, err on the side of caution for safety sake and hire out to licensed professionals. This site will provide options for you too.
