Make it taller
You may need to plant large trees in front of the fence, or train your dog using the underground wire system.
Unless you resides in an area without restrictions on fencing height, you most likely cannot exceed 6' fence.
If the fence is chain link or similar, permitting view to other side, you'll need screening via slats or shrubs and conifer trees.
I would look into an invisible fence in addition to the wood fence.
Please micro-chip your dog in case it does get out/lost so you can get your pet returned LOTS OF IDEAS https://www.pinterest.com/pin/730146158307172072/ More ideas https://bamahuskies.com/dog-proof-your-backyard-fence/
If your fence is lower than 6 feet, you can add some height that has a rough edge on top or add some type of lattice that angles inward. That might work, depending on how long the fence is.
You also might try training and positive reinforcement.
But for just about any height and fence material, I will tell you what we did. We had a Great Dane mix and (I know it sounds cruel, but it's worse to let them jump and REALLY hurt themselves - or someone else) we hot-wired the inside of the fence at the top. Just a simple line we bought at a feed store with a power transformer at one end. It only works on paws and noses because the moist points are how the electricity travels. One or two zaps and she never went near the fence again. We turned off the power after a week and just left the dead line. That was all the reminder she ever needed.
Priscilla! They are such beautiful dogs! I don't blame you for wanting to find something to keep him from leaving home!

Make the fence taller. I have a Doberman terrier mix that still clears a 6 to 7 foot fence with ease.
