About 4 inches thick, 2 feet across and has been dried slowly in the garage. How can I preserve it. Sentimental value.

How long has it been drying?
About 1 year in the garage.
Hi Christy, Varnish it or Stain with a preservative(garden) or Wax it.
Christy, as mentioned and your letting it dry is what you need to do. After it dries then preserve it and enjoy your piece.
I would use a polyurethane finish on it. Matte is better than glossy unless you want a glossy look - matte is more natural. Get one thats for outdoors if thats where you will keep it.
Thank you all for your helpful ideas.
Don't put ant type of finish on it until it drys
