I have an oval breakfast top table made of glass. Many, many years of wear and tear. How can I resurface it? Get the scratches removed or do something to its surface?

how about faux stained glass? Paint and seal it. Get a piece of plexi-glass the same size and put flat papers or memorabilia on the glass, cover with plexi. Or just deco-page tissue paper over the glass and seal.
How is it attached? Are both sides scratched? paint, decoupage (hiding scratches visibly) scratched side flip it over so non-scratched smooth side is up. Get glass buffing kit and refinsh it.Replace it with another piece of glass(check local Goodwill etc. for similar sized piece). Replace it with wood.
You could check with a local company that deals with glass and see if they can buff out the scratches.
This is a crazy thought. Decoupage the underneath in a fabric. Voila! Instant tablecloth.
