How can I repurpose or upgrade old swivel bar stools?

repurpose! paint them a funky color and put them in your kitchen!

Maybe saw off the foot rest, and the legs to make a chair..... chrome is nice, don't paint it.

The easiest upgrade would be to either upholster or reupholster them with new material.

If you would rather paint them that would work also.

But a cushion sort of like a shower cap would be easy to throw in the washer when it got dirty.

I would change the soft seat and foot parts with new fabric that compliments your decor and leave the chrome. They sound very interesting and full of super vintage style.

Paint the legs and reupholster them.

Use in the garden at a Bar once painted and restored.
