Should we put a shower in our lower level bathroom?
We have 2 full baths upstairs.

I'm sure it would add value to your home. If you already have 2 full baths upstairs, I think a half bath would be a good idea.
If budget allows, yes as it does add to property value. Keep it simple and basic, you can add charm and character with paint and decor.
Have you thought ahead to a time that it might be more convenient to have your main living area downstairs instead of upstairs? I'm sure you'd be so glad to have a shower available downstairs.
I would if I could. Always adds value to a home.
YES
If you already have two full baths, I’d say save yourself some money and space and just put in a powder room.
I would say it depends on how many people are in your home and if you have a lot of guests. Most of the time you don't need more than two full baths, but it's always a personal preference. 😊
To answer this question, ask yourself 'what is the main reason why you would have a shower installed at this point in time'?
Although it will definitely add value to the home, as will all improvements, at best you can expect to see only a % of the cost retrieved at the time of sale.
If you feel that having the shower will enhance the convenience for you now, and you do have the money for the installation, then go for it.
If you feel that you would not use the shower very much, or do not need it, then put the money towards something else.
