Try vinegar on a cloth. It should cut through the buildup
Goo Gone. WD40. Nail polish remover.
Most likely, the finish has softened from oil. Both cooking oils and body oils will disolve finish over time. WD 40 will clean it up, but the old finish will be gone.
straight dawn dish soap on area let it sit to break up grease then wipe with cloth & hot water scrub with baking soda if need additional help
