This is a carved wooden vase.
Is this wood vase mid-century modern?

when I think of mid/mod I think streamlined almost minimal décor on a piece, that looks more arts and craft, which was the period before mid/mod. I've been known be wrong. take it to an appraiser-they have many books to look at to decide. if there are any markings on it write them down.
Not at all. It looks like a hand carved tribal Thai teak wood vase. Mid Century Modern would have smooth sleek lines.
Mid century modern is typically straight lines and very minimalistic. However, this piece would look beautiful as as accent / texture piece with mid century decor!
Hello there,
Yes and No! It looks as if it is Teak and carved in Thailand or India probably in the mid 60/70. I have a number of these pieces myself and will be holding on to them as Teak is scarce these days and getting more so). Whilst it was made mid century, it is not "Mid Century Modern"! Mid Century Modern is sleek smooth lines (whilst the shape overall is modern, because of all the fussy carving it does not conform). Hope that is of some help to you.......
This vase is more bohemian style - very beautiful... and I love your canisters in the background - so cute!
Love your vase...I have a base that I made a plant stand out of and it is from India...looks a little like your design but your's is a lot prettier.
