How do I simply get shade?

after lunch the 10x12 back porch is unbearable bc the sun. I have a 2yr old who loves being outside but owners are a little picket so it must be tastefully done

What about a covered gazebo? You can get ones that come down easy. I think those are intended for camping - dining shelters?

We got a pergola from Lowes and it has a screen on it that we take off in the winter. It's great for shade and you can move it so it hangs down off the side and top.
How about patio or beach umbrellas, or EZ Up?
