How to start on a long list of remodeling?
I am on a very limited budget and have several things I'd like to change in my '73 ranch style home. They are: remove popcorn ceiling 4 rooms; replace 10 interior doors, replace baseboards, replace countertop in kitchen, replace carpet in den and bedrooms, put tile down in garage entry hall, laundry and pantry and master bath, replace fiberglass tub/shower in master bath with walk-in shower. I know I can't do it all at once, but don't have a clue where to start. I guess common sense would say top down, so start with ceilings? I need help to decide where to start.

I would definitely do the ceiling first. It's a messy job and if you are replacing materials beneath it, that would make the most sense. Also, it's nearly zero cost if you DIY. Please make sure you have it tested for asbestos before proceeding.
After that, tub/shower; countertop; flooring; doors, baseboards. Think of it in terms of the mess it will make and items that will be damaged.
,Hi Jerre only you can decide what "bugs" you the most and what you can do when, based on your budget. The popcorn ceiling would be first on my list as I detest them and have removed many rooms of the stuff. Not expensive to do and will make a HUGE change. It can be done room by room and after the first room, you'll be a pro. A very messy and neck-aching job but oh so rewarding!! The last thing on my list would be the base boards after all the other renovations have been completed. Consider them to be the "frame of the picture". Your thought of from the top down is a good one. Good luck on your project(s). You'll have a great place you'll love when it's completed.
We usually take a “worst first” approach. Eg if it’s something damaged that could get worse start there. If it’s something ugly that you see everyday that bugs you - do that next. Your budget will guide you too. Do some small budget stuff while you save for bigger projects.
Thank you so much for your input. Damage isn't the problem. And the popcorn ceiling is the eyesore for me. So I guess I have my answer. Thanks for the info.
Janice here again! I'm now OVER 70 and when I did popcorn removal I was in my 40's, 50's, & 60's. I would not attempt it now because of safety issues. You have to do a lot of up and down on the ladder and balancing. Best to get some young person to do it for you.
let me copy this from Janice "The popcorn ceiling would be first on my list as I detest them and have removed many rooms of the stuff. Not expensive to do and will make a HUGE change.
