How do I stop these invisible critters from eating all my basil?
So aggravating to see a beautiful plant getting eaten alive from something I can't see! I went and bought Neem oil yesterday and am gonna try it. Oddly, only the plants in containers are getting eaten, not the ones in the ground, so what's up with that? Leah Allen

They could be aphids or spider mites and the neem oil should work. Often they can be knocked off with water from a hose.
You can try planting things nearby that insects don't like such as marigolds.
spray the basil with a few drops of dawn and water. It will deter bugs
