I paint a different color every 5 years the garage door and the trim of my house.
What can I do for the garage door to quit peeling?
I painted three years ago. And it's peeling already. I buy Behr paint, so I don't know why it does this.
How can I stop this from happening?
This is where paint is peeling off the back of the house. And it was only painted three years ago.

Karen...What material is the door? Maybe sanding at those areas, priming then repaint.
The paint peeling means there is moisture behind it OR you've used products that don't play well together. I would scrape everything that is loose. Personally, I think Behr paint is not as good as it once was so I would go with a different brand.
Check the under layers of paint to be sure it's either all latex or all oil-based paint. Make your next choice from there. I recommend visiting a dedicated paint supply store with your issue and get their best product for the situation.
Where do you live Karen? Weather conditions may be contributing to the problem. I am not a fan of paint and primer all in one, and generally I am not impressed with home improvement center paint brands. I gravitate towards stand alone paint stores with better quality products. Might be something to consider.
Prime, prime, prime. The paint with primer really has no primer in it. Just more paint solids. I always prime no matter what I paint. Also use a paint for metal.
Absolutely "direct to metal" (DTM) paint as needed!
I agree with Robyn. Metal paint. Metal expands and contract much more then wood or plastic. Paint needs to flex with the metal. Exterior paint not for metal does not have flexibility. Also don't for get to prime.
Thank you, for your reply. I wasn't aware of special paint for metal. I used to exterior paint that had a primer in it by Behr and I thought it would be good for the wood trim and also the metal garage door.
