Summer Beach Soap Recipe With Seashell Embeds

Learn how to make these fun summer melt and pour soaps for your summer skin care routine or to give as seasonal homemade gifts. This easy beginner soap recipe is inspired by my summer beach vacations growing up.

I remember when I first started making soap some eighteen years ago. It was a very different thing from what it's become today. Not only are there a plethora a wonderful soap making suppliers to purchase ingredients from, there are tons of soap making tutorials to be found on the internet. Everything from written photo tutorials to youtube videos to guide us on an exciting new journey.

It is, however, easy to become overwhelmed with all the information on soap making that's out there to be discovered. And, if you're like me, you quickly become a soaping addict. Add a glass or two of wine to your soap making journey and you've suddenly spent a fortune on soap making supplies you only use once.

This summer beach soap recipe is a little different. While you normally need to purchase multiple soap making molds to create a homemade soap with embeds, my soap tutorial allows you to experiment, instead, with premade seashell soap embeds to create unique custom artisans soaps for summer skin care or DIY gifts.

You can find the full soap making tutorial for my summer beach soap recipe at my blog, Soap Deli News. I have step-by-step directions to walk you through the process of making your own homemade melt and pour soaps. Plus you'll discover eight more amazing summer DIY beauty recipes from a few of my favorite bloggers. Everything from an aloe face mask to a pretty sweet mermaid whipped soap that you craft at home.

If you're ready to take your basic soap making skills to the next level, or you simply want to dive right in and see where your journey takes you, then this project is perfect for you!

You'll only need one silicone soap mold for my summer beach soap recipe. I've used this particular soap mold numerous times over the years for many of the soap recipes - both melt and pour and cold process - that you can find on my blog. It's a simple affordable investment that will open up a whole new hobby to fill your weekends.

My homemade summer beach soap recipe is the perfect summer DIY beauty recipe for cleansing your skin on hot summer days. Made with a blend of fresh litsea cubeba and peppermint essentials oils, these fun beach inspired soaps help to brighten and energize dull skin.

Ready to get started? Let's do this! Following are the instructions for making DIY summer beach soaps. Don't forget you can find the full recipe, supplies and tips on my blog so you can master this soap as your next soap making project.

You'll start by weighing out a portion of clear melt and pour soap base for the first layer of your beach soaps. This layer will contain clear soap exclusively as well the nitty gritty exfoliants you need to recreate the illusion of beach sand.

Cut the clear soap into cubes, then heat in the microwave until melted. Mix your exfoliants and add to the bottom of each of the mold's cavities. Then gently pour the clear essential oil scented soap base into the mold.

I set my mold at an angle for this step to add visual interest and create varying layers for my seashell soap embeds.

Once the first layer of soap has hardened. Position the seashell soap embeds as desired onto the first layer of soap in your mold.

You'll then cover the soap embeds with the remaining clear soap base.

To make the top layer of soap look like water and waves, add a small amount of white melt and pour soap base as well as a clear blue tinted soap base and swirl into the soap you just poured.

Once the soap has cooled and fully hardened, simply remove your summer beach soaps from the mold. You can then clean up the edges of your soaps using a paring knife or a potato peeler.

All that's left is to wrap your homemade soaps tightly in foodservice film or plastic wrap until ready for use. Or to give as homemade soap gifts this summer to friends and family.

The really awesome thing about this homemade soap making project is that there is no right or wrong way to create your summer beach soaps. It's all about your own artistic vision! This project is a lot of fun when you needs a girls night with friends. It's also a great family project to craft with your tweens or teens.

I hope you enjoy this summer soap making project as much as I did. And don't forget to visit my blog, Soap Deli News, to find eight more amazing summer DIY beauty recipes that you can craft this summer!
