I always watch several YouTube videos whenever I want to try a new craft or learn a new technique. Have fun !!!
Susan....I would try a stencil/stencils. I'm not much of a free-hander but love stencils for so many crafts.
Most I know and myself do them in watercolors, so you get the colors of the floor, you can also do colored pencils and then use a wetted brush. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCDr330caH8
I also used to do herbarium mounts for the provincial herbarium, and pressed the flowers with root, leaves, blooms and seeds for use in studying botony. Lots of folk press them in big old books..... then paint them later on.
LOVE THIS!!!!
