One thing that works for me and does not involve any chemicals is hot water. You can fill the bottle with hot water and then soak in you sink filled with hot water. The heat softens the adhesive. I have also just run hot water over the label while "rolling" the adhesive off with my thumb. Dish soap makes the process a little easier, but it does not dissolve the adhesive.
I like to use the hot water trick with some Dawn dish soap. After that if there is still some residue I like to use GooGone.
I'll often use a product called Goo Gone to get the last bit of adhesive off. I've found that it's the only thing that will get really strong label glue.
really hot water, dawn dish soap & green scrubber sponge or goo gone
WD40
I use coconut oil or vegetable oil.
Get off the majority of the sticker by soaking it in hot water, then use goo gone.
