How do I know if I should pick these wonky shaped 🥒?
I don’t know if these will fill out after being hit with white powder mildew and a long period of heavy rains. I am unsure because the seeds said long English but these don’t look like them so not sure if they will lengthen or thin out like long English cucumbers or just go and pick them. Anyone have any more suggestions about this? 🤞😄

who cares what shape they are just pick & eat when they are ready/ripe Grocery stores only sell the most perfect fruits & veggies because that is what people expect them to look like doesn't affect the flavor
I would dust them with a copper fungacide, I use Bonide brand. This is used by organic gardeners.
If you have had a lot of rain then this is where you mildew is coming from. Select the best of the bunch and enjoy!! Usually cukes require a lot of moisture to make them taste good so providing yours do not have mildew on the cukes and only on the leaves they should be good. Try one and see.
If they are squishy to the touch, they are too soft to eat. If they are firm and evenly green, they are probably ready to eat. Wash them before you slice them. Put sliced cucumbers in a clean dry pint or quart jar. Cover with vinegar. Add 1/2 teaspoon of pickling spices (from the herbs and spices rows in the grocery store.) Add 1 tsp. of sugar per pint, plus 1 tsp. of salt per cup. Put a lid on each jar and put the jars in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, empty out I/2 of the vinegar mixture from each jar. Shake the jars, then tie a ribbon or raffia bow around each lid. Put on a gift tag and enjoy or give away your Refrigerator Pickles. You could also make chowchow, salsa, relish, or other easy recipes with your cucumbers. Best wishes! Jewell
