How can I repair my bed so that it doesn't squeak?
We have an old bed, one with a wooden headboard and footer. It has a steel base with springs. We have added a hardboard on top of the springs to assist, but it is a squeeking creaking bed

It can be the bed frame, you may have to add ply wood over the slats or metal
Try paraffin wax blocks. You can get them in hardware stores often where they sell canning supplies. Rub the wax blocks anywhere wood touches metal. You could also try and hit all the spots where the springs cross over, but likely something like a silicone lubrication spray would work better there.
