DIY Pumpkin Bundt Pan Fall Wreath
This is a fun project where you take a vintage bundt pan and give it a new life by making it into a pumpkin fall wreath. This is a simple DIY project with only 8 easy steps.
Repurposing vintage items is so exciting! The ridges on this bundt pan reminded us of the shape of a pumpkin. That is how we came up with the idea of this fall wreath.
Here are the things you need to gather together before starting this project:
- Vintage Bundt Pan
- TSP Cleaning Solution
- Old Cloth
- Gloves
- Kilz Primer Paint
- Paint Brush
- Foam Paint Brush
- Orange Acrylic Paint
- Burlap Ribbon
- Safety Pin
- Hot Glue & Gun
- Small Piece of Wood
- Artificial Flowers and Greenery
Step 1: Clean bundt pan with TSP Cleaner. This helps remove an non-stick coating that causes paint not to adhere.
Step 2: Paint the bundt pan with Kilz Primer. This is another step to help the paint adhere to the pan. We tried skipping these steps and the paint would not stick.
Step 3: Once the primer is dry, it's time to paint the pan with the acrylic coat.
Step 4: We wanted to give the look of the veins on our pumpkin, so before the acrylic paint dried, we took a Q-tip and wiped off the paint here and there.
Step 5: Decide how long you'd like your ribbon to hang your wreath and secure the ribbon together with a safety pin. Pin as close to the bundt pan as possible. The tighter the ribbon the better.
Step 6: Using hot glue, glue the small piece of wood to look like the stem on your pumpkin. This adds adorable character to your wreath. We found an old branch on the ground and cut the wood about 2" long.
Step 7: Glue the greenery on the pan, hiding the end of the stems under the ribbon.
Step 8: Now glue on the heads of your artificial flowers. You can add as many as you want. This step is all about your taste.
Now the best part is choosing the right place for you to display your adorable pumpkin bundt pan fall wreath. Here's tip on hanging a wreath on a door for you. Everyone will love this beauty!
Mine looked just right on the bottom half of our dutch door. If you want to see how we installed our dutch door, there is a post on my blog all about it.
