Hi Maria! You have a couple of options I can think of. You could get a glass replacement or you could put a wood replacement. You could use planks or a large sheet. There are some nice quality plywood sheets that would take stain or paint. I would clean up and possibly paint the base first.

Cynthia has some good suggestions, also you could get plexiglas to replace.
You could build a new wooden planked top for it.
Paint the frame and have a piece of glass cut. If you want to go with something else, tile over plywood.
