How do you replace subflooring?
I tore up the flooring in my bedroom and bathroom and a couple of the sheets of wood? Look pretty bad. I would like to replace them. I don’t know what to call the sheets and how do you go about it without totally screwing it up?

How do I replace a subfloor?
It is normally called under layment and comes in various thicknesses. Us a circular saw to cut out a small section. Set blade at about 5/8" and away from any seams. The flooring should pull up and you can buy a larger sheet to make a patch in the entire area you want to fix. You may also be buy some floor leveling compound and fill in the bad areas.
Lori, it’s called the sub flooring. If it has been damaged with water (including mold or mildew) or insects, you may need a professional termite inspection, or a plumber to search out a leak. You just might need to do some foundation repairs, then high grade plywood (mds), then new flooring. So, find out the details then you can plan your work. Best wishes! Jewell
