Bathe in original blue Dawn dish soap. Works like a charm!
Dawn original dish soap and white vinegar will work. Any pet shop has flea shampoo, they all work. But . . . Bathing the dog is just the first step. Completely worthless unless you treat your home and yard. These sites will help you get started.

I have 3 dogs and 6 cats, the neighbors 3 dogs are at my house daily, plus visiting animals. I spray the perimeter of my property and base of my house with vinegar once a month. It does help. Needs to be reapplied after every rain event.
Dawn dish soap soap up very good then let sit 5 min then rinse
Frontline works really well.
Most of the Spot Treatments work great, I wasted money on may things, but it was not till i took the dog to the vet, at that time you had to get it at the vet, now you can buy it OTC , big help, once a month put the Spot Treament on, about 4 days no more flea's llet the dog go anyplace in the house ,at 100's will be killed that you never even thought about, Your dog will thank you, it can't be pleasent to have one bite right after the other.with the treatments now days, if you do not keep them flea free, it really amounts to animal abuse.
Use the 3 step approach. Remove the fleas from your yard. Then, Remove them from your house. Finally, remove them from your pet. I found this is the most effective method.
Below are the products I used:

Pet: Your vet can recommend the best treatment.

After bathing, yes a Frontline type of product.
Dollar Tree had a generic Frontline that only had permethrin in it, which the FDA says is the safer of those types of chemicals for mammals.
yes, treat the house, the yard and it will need to be retreated frequently until you break the egg production cycle.
