Hello could you possibly post a photograph to better see your situation and area of concern?

I had a white cabinet that I just needed to use a warm iron and the white finish was reapplied along the edges.
Is it just the flat outside edge of the shelf that’s damaged? I ask this because you can buy replacements edging- I’ve replaced that you apply with an warm iron.

Alternatively at another home with white cabinets I was able to disguise defects using an appliance repair paint. I have found this white Rustoleum paint to be excellent for touchup! It was a few dollars at Walmart and I use it on cabinets my freezer and so much more. Its very thick and in a nail polish type dispenser.
On Amazon it’s available in black and white.

thank you …. my problem is that the edging has bubbled up and has left contact with the door … other areas it has cracked off completely and it has actually shrunk back along the edging …
I think the most economical solution would be to replace doors. Maybe you can find some like it at Habitat or an architectural salvage . unusually once they have bubbled up they are beyond repair.
You may be able to improve the appearance temporarily, but, replacing them with simple shaker type wood doors and new hardware would upgrade your kitchen and give you more options.
Hello Flo,
You would need to fill and smooth the cracks on the doors before re decorating them with Paint or Contact etc. You could cladd your doors with lightweight material ( cork, etc. or fit a frame on them and either paint or paper or use fabric on the inside or even replace the doors entirely - Kitchen Magic do just that service in UK!
Yup, unfortunately they've failed at this point. I agree that you can do some things to improve them temporarily but...
I would first completely clean the insides. Examine everything closely to see if there is other damage to repair. I would choose a completely new color to at least get the feeling of a new kitchen. Perhaps a dark blue? Paint the cabinets and drawers inside and out unless they happen to be real wood but I'm betting not. You'll need to speak with someone at the paint store (go to a specialty store and get the right paint!) to find out how to prep the surface for paint. You'll probably need to degloss it and perhaps do some sanding. You'll have to do your best to level out the door problems with filling/sanding, etc.
You might be able to cover the existing doors with wood to achieve a shaker style look.
"...if you have existing flat-front doors, you can accomplish the same look using 1/4-inch hardwood. By using 1/4-inch material, it doesn't interfere with existing tolerances needed by hinges or for doors to open and close properly. You can turn your old slab doors into Shaker style using a few tools that you may already have in your garage."
