It seems like the first thing you might need to think about is carving out a specific space for you to work. You'll need a flat surface - size depending on what you plan to do indoors. In my previous home I removed the innards of a bedroom closet. I purchased a blank hollow core door at Habitat Restore for $20. I cut some 1 x and made supports around the walls, nailing into the studs. A friend helped me lift and maneuver the door until we could drop into place on top of the supports. The fit was so tight and the door wedged in that we didn't even bother with more than a handful of screws to hold it to the supports.
You need proper lighting, a place for whatever your craft "tools" are - even if you have to get some plastic storage bins with tight tops and cover them with a tarp outside!
Then, decide projects you want to work on and just go! 😎
Hi, Pam!
I live in a mobile home and built shelving between the wall studs in my front room and bathroom to create storage without taking away from the size of the rooms: https://designsbystudioc.com/diy-wall-shelving-between-studs/ I've also remodeled the kitchen, remodeled both bathrooms, laid new flooring, etc. Good luck with your projects! I hope this helps!
