Drop cloth that painters use are my favorite! check this pin https://www.pinterest.com/pin/406027722654977471/
Curtain clips! You can turn sheets, drop cloths or any length of fabric into curtains almost instantaneously.
Another idea is to use good quality sheets, I used to use the flat sheet large hem at the top, and sew 3/4" from the top, then make another row of stitching wide enough for your rod (usually 1 1/2" for standard rod). Then I would make a hen on each side 1" wide, and then hem to the required length from rod to floor. I always like the polished cotton/egyptian cotton sheets that I usually brought in January when stores would have their annual linen sales.

A budget friendly method is pretty twin size flat sheets. You can use the hem at the top, or use curtain clips. No sewing needed. If you need them shorter, cut them allowing for a nice hem and iron in place with a product like Stitch witchery. If you have access to vintage table cloths, you can hem or clip them to hang.
You can use a flat sheet and fold the edge over, sew it and feed the curtain rod through
I made mine with a canvas drop cloth. It has pre sewn edges & an adorable farmhouse chic look. I painted a stripe on using painters tape as well.
Hi ! Instead of buying material to make your curtains try using canvas or muslin drop clothes or flat sheets ! Just use clip on hangers and hang on curtain rod .
Pat....Sheets work well using the hem for pockets for rods by removing the threads of making a slit with scissors.
