I have a console table that I painted and stained. The flat surface is a walnut stain and I painted the legs yellow. You can leave the flat surfaces as is and chalk paint the legs. You can see my table here: https://momhomeguide.com/annie-sloan-chalk-paint-table/
Or, if you didn’t want to paint, you could add decorative table runners to the table. You could even craft them out of decorative paper.
P.S. I used Annie Sloan’s chalk paint, but it can be expensive. I used Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint on other projects - like this jewelry cabinet - and I find it the paint easier to work with, too: https://momhomeguide.com/chalk-painted-jewelry-chest/
P.S. If you place colorful decorative items on your table or put a mirror or painting on the wall, you could get away without painting it. It is a pretty table. I regularly change the decor on my console table for the seasons: https://momhomeguide.com/?s=Console+table
If you paint it white it will not show up on the wall. I would tile the top so that live plants don't cause water damage. Based on what little color I see in your picture I would consider a dark gray color. It's a great table to work with so let your imagination loose.
Joanna....Maybe add an additional shelf so more can be displayed

Paint and stencil or perhaps do a modpog transfer of flowers (I'm seeing inspiration in the lower right hand corner of your floor).
White would look great! You can gel stain the very top! And paint the rest white. :) Use General finishes Java gel stain. Here is a post on how to use gel stain over a wood surface! :)

Don't paint it. Add an extra shelf in matching wood.
I like the mixture of paint and stain. Paint on the base and stain on the top. I rescued a console/side table with a drawer from the trash. Fake woodgrain veneer over particle board. I painted the base a light grey, mix my own colors, and stain/painted the top and drawer front red mahogany. Here are some ideas.

Have you thought about chalk paint. I love it because it requires little prep, no priming, and dries quickly. Good luck with your project!
White would look great! I love the two tone look, so if the top is real wood you can stain it. If not, you can use gel stain :)
I would paint with a pop of color like teal or red.
Before you spend any money trying to transform this table, decide first what the function of the table is. Do you want it as a landing zone when you enter the home, to display selected items, or to store practical everyday items?
In the picture you posted, there is a hodgepodge of unattractive items that have no connection to each other. The purpose of the table is not clear.
What about adding a shelf before painting?
I see your walls are white, what about painting it black? It would certainly stand out. Good luck!
mount some small racks under the top shelf, you can then put wicker baskets in the racks for more storage and will make the table feel less plain and add character, can white wash table to make it stand out from both wall and floor, a pretty lamp and a smaller plant for the top
