How can I upcycle pieces of styrofoam?
I received large pieces of styrofoam in mailed packages. I want to recycle them in some way or upcycle them. Does anyone have a way to get rid of them?

Hi Mary, this thread has a lot of ideas that may inspire you. If you want to get rid of them, one of the posters said they return them to mailing companies who reuse them for shipping. Not sure if that's an option in your area. https://www.thriftyfun.com/tf/Green_Living/Reusing/Reusing-Styrofoam.html
I always use them to hold small pieces that need spray painting.
I've seen Styrofoam used to make crafts. Shape the foam into a basic shape then use little pins to attach sequins and fabrication.
There are several different kinds of styrofoam, some of them being more practical for reusing for craft making. The styrofoam that is used in packaging is largely the type that cracks and disintegrates very easily, making it less suitable for making into other items requiring any permanence.
Great sound proofer or insulator.
Mary...I use these pieces in vases for flowers...it can be artificial or live flowers...if live just attach a pick with floral tape to the stem to stick in the foam. Works well for me,
Use in the bottom of big flower pots to you don't have to fill with as much dirt.
Hello Mary,
Do post pictures! If flat you could cut out shapes for Christmas decorations,or stick together to form a box for light storage items. If shaped possibly make Planters out of them! Best wishes......
