Dawn dish washing soap removes oil quite well. I'd suggest putting a small amount of Dawn onto a very damp cloth and then rubbing the oil stain well on the car seat. You may need to repeat a couple of ties, then use a clean wet cloth to "rinse" the soap away as completely as possible by dabbing the stain well, then a dry cloth to absorb as much of the moisture as possible.
I agree about Dawn. For a cloth, I would use a microfiber cloth. Blot so you don't spread the stain. I would follow-up with the upholstery attachment for a steam cleaner if you have access to one.

Blue dawn dish-soap, what a great product.
99% of car seat fabrics are Polyester. They are typically solution dyed, not batch dyed and therefore will take some aggressive cleaning.
I would use a shop vac after soap application and rinse/vac, rinse/vac and rinse/vac again, as soap residue will attract new dirt.
We've used Norwex's cleaning paste on oil with great success. Good luck!
Try cornstarch first. It absorbs the grease. Rub in a bit and let is sit for an hour or so. Then try to dissolve the grease left with a dish detergent on a rag. Dish detergent is made to break up grease.
