How do I recover dining room chairs?
I have 6 dining room chairs and the seating part is a little worn out. We really don't want to go through the process of reading and adding ne_ fabric. Any ideas on how I can freshen them up?

Hello Angela. You can probably add new fabric over the old without removing the old fabric but it sounds like that isn't something you want to do. You could buy chair pads and place them on each chair. You could paint the old fabric with chalk paint.
Do you want to recover? It is easy! Your question sends mixed messages. First you ask how to recover, then you say you don't want to go through the process . . . It is either clean and refresh or recover. Here are some step by step tutorials.

Once you see how quick and easy it is, you will want to recover. Just be sure to choose durable fabric.
You could do a slip cover over the whole thing but that would cover other parts of the chair too.
If you don’t want new fabric, then mask & spray them with automotive upholstery dye.
If you don't want to recover the seats I suggest that you paint a design (or solid) using a fabric paint. You can buy it at fabric and craft stores or on- line.
Dinning chairs are very simple to recover. Unscrew the padding from below for easy access. Cut fabric to size then using a stapler, staple the fabric below. Put the chairs back together.
First you will remove the old fabric. Replace with new fabric and staple all the way around the seat. Replace the newly fabric covered seat and that's it!
Thank all of you for your ideas....looks like I will have to go the new fabric route
