Ceiling joists aren’t “engineered” to hold kinetic loads (the chair will be moving).
No one wants to crack their ceiling with putting excess load on the ceiling joists and then having to repair the ceiling framing.
If they are 2x4 ceiling joists >16” On Center, you’ll need to build a “bridge beam”.
As in “bridge across” two ceiling joists with a 2x8 (minimum) screw steel L brackets, both sides, to keep the bridge beam from rolling.
Do not lay the bridge beam flat, it has no structural integrity laying flat.
If you want a bigger surface to screw the chair chain into, then buy a 4x6 scrap.
If you can hit a ceiling joist....

Maybe there are support beams in your ceiling. Have you tried a stud finder?
You need to put it in studs with very large hooks and you should be fine maybe add chains if it’s not long enough Home Depot will have heavy chains go by weight the chains hold.

We hung a hammock by screwing sturdy eyebolts into the wall studs with no problems. Ceiling joists should be much thicker than wall studs. Be sure to use eyebolts designed for heavy loads
