I always keep a few corks handy to slice into thin pads to use as bumpers under plant pots, cabinet doors and tabletop serving pieces to prevent scratches and noise. Apply with a glue gun.
I used my collection of corks to frame a ceramic wall picture. The corks are glued side to side and to the frame.
The picture was originally a hand painted table top, it was discarded and placed by a dumpster because one of the tiles was broken. We chiseled off the tiles, took them home and had them cut to size on the periphery. Mounted it to 3/4" plywood, grouted and then framed. Just love it after all these years.
I have a friend who makes all sorts of Holiday decorations. She has made pumpkins for Halloween, Bunnies for Easter, Flags for July 4th, Christmas trees and Snowmen for Christmas. She also made a front door mat. She had all her friends save their corks!
