Hi there, I've used the mirror spray paint a couple of times with pretty good results. It is absolutely more of shiny chrome than an actual "mirror" but I've always liked how it turned out. I've used the Rustoleum mirror spray paint, here's the link to the amazon product: https://amzn.to/2P5T5Wu
Hello I would call the Rustoleum customer service and ask their opinion. In the past they’ve been very helpful with my questions and problems. I totally recommend their spray paint products.

Hi there,
If you only have surface rust - Try using WD-40 on it using a soft cloth. It eats rust and gives it a protective coat too...............Best wishes.
After cleaning the existing rust off with WD40, scuff the entire surface with fine steel wool. Then clean by wiping with denatured alcohol. Then you can paint it. I would check Krylon or RustOleum. We used one of their chrome sprays and it did a great job. Unfortunately, I don't remember which brand.
perhaps a clear coat on top will help it shine more?
Clean it up and use a silver or chrome paint spray.
The WD40 Specialist Rust Remover is wonderful for removing rust. I have used it on certain areas on our 2004 SUV and had wonderful (unexpected) results. It sure beats sanding and it gets into tiny areas where sand paper or a bristled brush can't reach. It worked on the narrow strips between the windows & windshield wipers (not the blades, but the arms). You can get this at diy stores.
