How do I paint ugly tile in my laundry room?
The tile is a white yellow tile which previous owner cemented it down. It can not be torn out without ripping up floor bottom. Can ceramic tile be painted and withstand traffic in laundry room? thanks Angela
Hi there Angela, yes you can paint the tiles. You can buy heavy duty tile paint at most large hardware stores. Here's a great video that will show you how to go about it - 🤗
And maybe I should add the video

Yes it can. Some ideas from other Hometalkers

1) sand with a 80-120 grit sandpaper to get thru the glaze a little, unless the tiles look pretty ragged, then that finish is prob already worn thru
2) clean with a tsp type cleaner (avail from hardware store, looks like a mild carton)
3) if you don't do any thing else PLEASE PLEASE prime it with a decent problem solving primer. Primer sticks, paint wears and they both have their jobs, don't skip any.
4) Paint with your favorite color being careful to avoid all drips or runs.
You can paint tiles. There are lots of great tutorials here:

I've seen multiple projects where people have done that. Since you have laundry room traffic, you might lengthen the paint job by putting down a pretty rug or runner on the high traffic area.
Yes, it can be painted and there are a lot of great products out there for tile. I would visit the local paint store and ask their advice on what products to purchase based on your particular tile. Is it shiny or flat? Is it porous or not? All factors that will matter in the long run...good luck!

I stencil painted a bathroom floor of ours inexpensively but you don't need to stencil if you'd rather not. The basic way to paint the floor is the same. You can see how I did it here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2019/03/how-to-stencil-paint-ceramic-tile-floor.html
