1/3 cup of clear Aloe vera gel and 2/3 cup isopropyl alcohol that is at minimum 91%. Add a drop of essential oils to make it smell nice if you'd like.
Hello. The Hometalk DIY link listed below might be helpful.
Here is a recipe with good background information:
Here's a good article:
Here's a good one from CBS News: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hand-sanitizer-coronavirus-make-your-own/
Make sure it's at least 60% alcohol by volume if you want it to be effective for the Corona virus.
Here is a recipe with some good background information:
2/3 cup 99% isopropol alcohol
1/3 cup aloe vera gel

Quick Recipe for DIY Hand Sanitizer
1 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol.
1/2 cup of aloe vera gel (natural or store-bought)
15 drops of tea tree oil
Only have 70% isopropyl alcohol? That's ok! A recipe with 70% alcohol should be nine parts alcohol to one part aloe vera (1/2 cup aloe vera and 41/2 cups of 70% isopropyl alcohol.) A recipe with 99% alcohol could be three parts alcohol to two parts aloe vera.

The CDC recommends alcohol in hand sanitizer, however it's not always appropriate for some folks. This one is made without alcohol if that is an option for you. It's super easy and takes approximately 30 seconds to make. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

Hi Mjd: You can make it using the above recipes, but keep in mind that if you use alcohol, and someone you know uses it and is taking antabuse, for alcoholism, it can make them really sick. Some people think that if you are taking that, you have to drink alcohol for it to make you really sick, but hand sanitizer, mouthwash, lotions, anything that contains alcohol, is bad. So, I just wanted you to be aware of that. Good luck
Here is a DIY from Hometalk https://www.hometalk.com/44271350/diy-hand-sanitizer
Alcohol and aloe vera
HI, all you need is rubbing alcohol (99 percent alcohol volume) aloe vera gel and an essential oil. Lavender, eucalyptus and tea tree oil are both good choices. Mix 1 part aloe vera and 2 parts rubbing alcohol and then add a few drops of your essential oil of choice. If you prefer your hand sanitizer thicker you can add more aloe vera gel.
1/3 cup aloe vera gel (available at most drugstores)
2/3 cup 99% rubbing alcohol ((isopropyl alcohol)
