How to Make DIY Disinfecting Wipes
Making your own DIY disinfecting wipes is cheap and easy. Use paper towels, rubbing alcohol or Everclear and vinegar to make this alternative to Lysol or Clorox wipes. You can use these homemade cleaning wipes to disinfect surfaces like tables, counters and even your cell phone.
Learn step- by step how to make these wipes yourself. This is great for visual learners!
- Paper towel roll.
- Water proof canister (old coffee can works well)
- Sharp knife.
- 1 cup cleaning vinegar.
- 1/2 cup water.
- 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol or Everclear.
- 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap.
- 10 drops essential oil (optional)
Use a serrated knife to cut the paper towel roll in half so that it will fit into your water proof canister.
You need to use at least 60% alcohol. If you can't find 99% rubbing alcohol then you can use Everclear from the liquor store. 151 proof is best but the 120 proof will also work.
Pour the mixture onto the paper towels and let them soak it up. Once fully saturated you can pull out the center cardboard tube.
To use the wipes, pull from the center of the container and pull them out. Wipe down counters, tables and even your cell phone to kill germs. Just don't use them on your face or mouth and as always- keep out of reach of small children.

Several places on the Internet wrote the following: Rubbing alcohol with a concentration of 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is generally better for disinfecting than higher concentrations. The water in 70% IPA helps it dissolve more slowly, penetrate cells, and kill bacteria. Alcohol concentrations above 80–85% have reduced disinfecting power, and concentrations below 50% are not very useful for disinfection.
Hope this helps to know and more people will use the right kind of alcohol. Best wishes to all!

Can white vinegar be used instead of cider vinegar?
Why cleaning vinegar? I would think that would be harsh used as wipes for the body. Wouldn't white vinegar be better.
I don’t see a spot for notes. So I will ad here if you buy the blue roll of paper shop towels in auto area anywhere. They work an do not shrewd like paper towels. You can clean an get tuff spots with the item not ripping apart.
